House, Apartment & Small Building Design Noosa QLD
Do you remember when Noosa was just a sleepy holiday village on the South Pacific Ocean? Well, it is as spectacularly beautiful as ever, and it has become home to the rich and famous now. Forget the financial crisis: it prides itself on being exclusive and has a population cap and a very laid back lifestyle. Noosa is really a succession of villages, each with its own individual character, and those villages, as well as the golden beaches and ancient subtropical rainforest are attracting the super wealthy. Prices are rising fast and Noosa is thriving — and more private jets than ever are landing at the Sunshine Coast airport. Even Richard Branson has a heart-shaped island in the Noosa River. And in early 2018 a house sold in Sunshine Beach for $18 million, the highest price ever paid on the Sunshine Coast.
W.G. Howcroft: “You can talk of tropic sunrise,
Waving palms and all of that,
Or the miracle of morning mists”
Noosa has so many unspoilt beaches — patrolled by lifeguards though — that you can hardly choose between them. Temperatures range from 21-29° all year around, so you can even swim in winter. Then there are the Noosa Everglades, and birds and koala bears and wallabies, and wonderful walks. There is plenty of surf if that appeals to you, or you can ride a horse along the beach or watch dolphins, turtles and humpback whales.
“Saunter gently through the scrublands
With no special aim in view”
The arcades and laneways are lined with funky boutiques, trendy art galleries and cafés that serve better coffee than in Europe, and local arts and crafts and designer clothes are for sale. The village markets are enticing and sell everything from food to fashion.
“Give me tree-lined tracks at sunset
And the sound of rustling wheat”
